Place supplies that include preset shape 349
Filters Required: Filters Unlimited - Background Designers F 10 - 2 which you can find HERE
Photo Effex - Scanlines
Xenofex 2 - Constellation
You can import all of the background designer filter sets to your Filters Unlimited by clicking the import button at the bottom and going to your filters folder and selecting it.
Place the Preset Shape in your Preset Shapes folder in your My PSP Files.

1. Open 590 by 610 blank canvas.
2. Turn off foreground color, set background color to BLUE #5b8dd3
3. Find Shape 349 and draw out on canvas about 3 inches by 3 inches, Objects/align/center on canvas. Convert to raster layer. Effects/Image effects/Offset/Vertical 38/Horizontal 0/Wrapped checked/Custom. Name layer SNOW FLAKES.
2. Go up to SELECTIONS. Select All/Float/Defloat/Modify/Select selection borders/9
3. Use the bottom layer and flood fill the selection with WHITE. Name INNER BORDER.
4. Do same again on the INNER BORDER layer, Selections/select all/float/defloat/modify/select selection borders/4. Add new raster layer, move it below INNER BORDER layer, flood fill the selection with a dark midnight blue. NAME it OUTER BORDER.
5. Now go back to your SNOW FLAKES layer and DUPLICATE IT 6 times, you will then have seven of that image. Number them from top to bottom as 1 - 7 SNOWFLAKES.
6. Go to 1, close out 2 - 7. On 1 go up to effects/filter effects/Filters Unlimited 2/Background Designer sf 10 - 3. Move down to VMT STARDUST. Use these settings:
7. Click apply. (Note if you don't have Filters Unlimited 2, or do not have Background Designers imported into Filter's Unlimited, you can use Background Designers as a stand alone filter).
8. Close out 1 and open 2. Apply same filter, with same settings, EXCEPT for random seed, slide that up or down, click apply when you get one you like. I try, if the first round were more on the left, to make them more on the right or in the center, making sure they scatter across image instead of focusing on one area.
9. Close out 2, and apply same to 3, then do same for the rest all the way to 7. Make sure you use same settings except for RANDOM SEED, which you slide and place your snowflakes randomly across each tag back.
10. Close out 2-7. Leave 1 open.
11. Go to WHITE BORDER. Images/Texture effects/Weave with these settings:
12. Add new raster layer. Arrange/send to bottom.
13. Go back to your preset shape and draw out another of the same shape, line width 5, border dark blue in your outer border and background color #004d91(Blue). Draw it out about same size as first, then objects/align/horizontal center. Convert to raster layer. Use magic wand to select inside the image. Effects/filter effects/photo effex/scanlines these settings:
14. Name layer NAME PLATE. Use magic wand to select the LIGHTER BLUE in the name plate, being sure contiguous is NOT checked. Once selected promote selection to layer. Name this layer CONSTELLATION 1.
15. Using same dark blue you used in the outer border, set foreground to that color, turning off background color. Set line with to 9. Add new raster layer, arrange move to bottom. Draw out the same preset shape as a frame around your SNOWFLAKES tag back like this:
Convert to raster layer - name layer CONSTELLATION 2.
16. Open SNOWFLAKE in supply folder. Edit/copy/paste as new layer. Move it into this position:
17. Duplicate the snowflake, Image/resize/all layers NOT checked/88%, move it to bottom right corner for now, we'll place it in a minute. Duplicate that snowflake, image/resize/all layers not checked/80%, move it to left side middle, leave for now, then duplicate that one and leave same size. Now move all of your snowflakes into these positions:
18. Go to first snowflake/merge down into next snowflake, then merge them down into next snowflake, then the final snowflakes. Name layers SNOWFLAKES BORDER.
19. Open DEER HEARTS tube. Edit/copy/paste as new layer. Effects/3d effects/Drop shadow/3/-3/Opacity 30/blur 3.00. Apply. Name layer DEER HEART. Crop image close to each border, leaving bottom border same.
If you choose NOT to animate, delete all but one of your snowflake background, Layers/Merge visible/name and save your tag. (animating is easy, you may want to try and open a whole new world.)
ANIMATION STATION
1. Make sure SNOWFLAKES 1 is open and the others are closed.
2. Go to CONSTELLATION 1. Effects/Xenofex 2/Constellation/2.00/1/2/1/100/100, use original image. Apply.
3. Go to CONSTELLATION 2, apply same filter and settings.
Layers/Merge Visible/Save as PSP 1.
EDIT/UNDO/UNDO CONSTELLATION/UNDO CONSTELLATION
Leave SNOWFLAKES 1 OPEN, apply constellation filter to both again, only click on random seed, then apply. Merge visible and save as PSP 2.
NOW, CLOSE OUT SNOWFLAKES 1 and open SNOWFLAKES 2.
Do the same, two rounds on each CONSTELLATION LAYER, applying same settings but clicking random seed, then apply. Name as PSP 3 and PSP 4.
You should see a pattern now. Go down your SNOWFLAKES layer in order, apply the CONSTELLATION EFFECT TO CON1 AND CON 2 by using random seed, merge layers, name as PSP 5 and PSP 6. Do this for each of the SNOWFLAKES layers, 1 - 7, making sure you are on CONSTELLATION layers when apply the filter, merging and naming. When you are finished you should have PSP 1 - PSP 14.
ANIMATION SHOP
Open your animation shop.
File/Animation Wizard/Next/Next/Next/Frame Properties 11/Add images 1-14/View
File/Save As/Name tag.
