In PaintShop Pro, the Pick tool is a versatile tool used for selecting, moving, resizing, rotating, and transforming objects, layers, and selections. It's primarily used for manipulating elements within the image and can also be used to create selections.

 

Selection:
The Pick tool is essential for selecting objects, layers, or portions of an image for further editing or manipulation.
 
 
Moving:
Selected elements can be easily moved around the canvas using the Pick tool.
 
 
Resizing and Scaling:
The tool allows for resizing and scaling objects while maintaining or changing their proportions.
 
 
Rotating:
You can rotate selected elements by dragging the rotation handle. 

Shearing and Perspective:
The Pick tool also enables shearing and perspective adjustments to modify the shape and appearance of objects. 
 
 
Transforming:
The Pick tool can be used to apply various transformations to selections, layers, or images, including scaling, rotation, shearing, and perspective.
 
 
HOW TO USE THE PICK TOOL

Selection: 
Select the Pick tool from the toolbar (often represented by an arrow).

Click and Drag:
Click and drag on an element to move it, or click and drag a marquee to select a rectangular area.
 
 Transformation:
Use the handles that appear around the selected object to resize, rotate, or shear.
 
 Multiple Selections:
Hold down the Shift key to select multiple elements, and use the Pick tool to manipulate them together.
 
 Deselecting:
To deselect an object or have nothing selected, click in a blank area of the canvas.
 
Pivot Point:
The pivot point, represented by a small dot, determines the center of rotation for selected objects. You can drag the pivot point to change the rotation center.
