************* DON'T WORRY BE HIPPIE *************

I was born in 1955, so the 50's and 60's were "my time."  I loved the Hippie Culture, although I was never one.  I did adopt some of the dress style, many of the icons and slang!  I'm an old soul as my mom and grandmother would say.  I adored Victorian, Edwardian, the 20's, 30's and 40's.

This tutorial will visit the sixties and early 70's when Flower Children were a very colorful part of society.

Open a 1300 by 1200 PIXEL blank canvas.

Set your foreground color to  #ff7d23 (Or color of choice to complement tube.)

Set your background color to white for you will be flood filling with pattern provided.

Install Frame It Up_BG 24 in your preset shapes.

Set your line width to 10

Draw out the shape in the middle of your canvas.  It should be situated close to this:

 Rename layer/Frame 1

Open Hippie Pattern 1 - Edit/Copy Image

Use your magic wand to select inside the drawn out shape.

Edit/Paste Into Selection

You will now have this:

Go up to SELECTIONS/SELECT ALL/FLOAT/DEFLOAT/MODIFY/SELECT SELECTIONS BORDERS.  WITH all still selected, Layers/New Raster Layer.  Move that layer just beneath Frame 1 layer and flood fill the selection with a color that complements.  I did this:

Open "Peace Sign" from your supply folder.  Copy and paste onto canvas.  Arrange, move below FRAME 1.  If you followed steps correctly, you now have this:

Apply Drop Shadow Effects/3d effects/drop shadow 3 -3 Opacity 0 to peace sign.

Select inside your "Peace Sign" with the magic wand.

Go the effects/texture effects/weave and use these settings and color (Or Color of Choice)

Settings Gap 5 Width 5 Opacity 20

Color to complement frame. I chose one of the reds in the flower.

Layers/New Raster Layer/Move beneath Peace Sign

Draw a white ellipse, no foreground color.  Name that Layer Gradient Fill

Like this:

DO NOT merge any of your layers.

Open the "HIPPIES" tube and copy and paste onto your canvas.  Position on the left side of the frame like this:

Rename layer "Hippie"  Apply drop shadow to "Hippie" layer.

Effects/3d Effects/Drop Shadow/ -3 3 Opacity 30 Blur 0

Reverse 3 - 3 Opacity 30 Blur 0

Crop your image leaving about an inch on each side.  Evenly.

Image/Resize/57 %

Go to bottom layer, name it mask layer.  Flood fill with a darker color.  I chose a blue that matches the outer rim of the peace sign.

Install Mask BG40 into your masks folder.

Layers/LoadSaveMask/Load Mask From Disk and find the mask above.  Click OK.  Go to layer palette and click on top frame of the mask layer and merge group.  Duplicate.  Merge Down.

Now you have this:

Go to bottom mask layer and rename that layer GLITTER

Effects/DSB Flux/Med Noise/38

Open Rainbow Gradient and put into your My PSP Files/Gradients

Select that gradient with your foreground color.

Choose these settings:

Style/Radial/Angle 0/Repeat 0/Horizontal 50/Vertical 50

Flood fill inside your white ellipse layer beneath your peace sign.

Layers/Merge Visible/Save as PSP 1

Edit/Undo Merge Visible

Edit/Undo Gradient fill

Edit/Undo DSB Flux

Go back to mask layer/Effects/DSB Flux/Med/43

Select white ellipse layer again and go back to the gradient.  Use the same settings except now change repeat to 1.

Layers/Merge Visble/Save as PSP 2

Repeat the UNDO steps.

Repeat the DSB flux on bottom layer and the gradient fill with repeat set to 2.

Do this for SIX frames, each time increasing the noise and the repeat by one.
