Faded Text

First off I need to state that I wasn't the originator of this tut.  I remember doing it many, many moons ago, but I can't recall where I learned it from.  So many of the pioneer tutorial writers are no longer around and their sites are closed.  However, I still love this tutorial and hope you will too!!!

Supplies:

Text of choice  (a block type font works best)

Elements from a scrap kit of choice

Mask of choice (optional)

Let's start:

Open a new image 600 x 600 (it can be cropped or resized later)

Place your elements in a banner along the bottom of your image.

Leave a small gap at the bottom

Select a dark color, one that compliments your tubes or you can just use black.

Type out your text. Don't worry about the text size you can reduce it or enlarge it later.

Using the nodes - stretch your text so it resembles the below image

Move it down so that the bottom of your text is lower than the images.

Align your text - convert to raster.

Merge your images that along the bottom (make sure not to include the text).

Duplicate this layer and move above your text.  Your layers should be Images - Text - Images.

Activate your text layer. Select all - float - defloat.

Click on your top image layer, invert, delete - deselect.

Reduce the opacity of the image layer between 50 and 60 percent.

Note:  I added a layer of gold beads around my text - this is optional,

you may want to do something else or nothing at all.

Add a drop shadow of choice to your bottom image layer and your text layer.  Merge layers.

Crop your image and save.
