Snowy Wreath

Essentials Needed:

1 main image

1 Background image

1 frame with transparent centre

VanDer Lee Snowflakes or a snowflake animation.

I created the little girl at the postbox and the Holly wreath in Bing, so have uploaded them for you

A wintery background.

You can download them here

Open a new 600 x 600 pixel, transparent background image.

Open your wreath.

I know the wreath would be my top layer, so I added my text now, or you could add the text in animation shop, whichever you find works for you. I merged visible the text and the wreath.

You can either use your magic wand to select the centre of the wreath,

Or do as I did, which was to draw an ellipse with my selection tool.  I wanted it to overlap the wreath frame a little.

Open your background image and resize as necessary, Edit/Copy.

Go back to your wreath and add a new Raster Layer.

Edit/paste into selection.

Keep Selected.  Layers/Arrange/Move Down so the background is underneath the wreath layer.

Now open your main image.  Again resize to your liking.

Edit paste as a new layer in between the background and the wreath.

That is really the tag made, but I chose to make some snow.
I know you know how to do it by now, but it just adds so much to the tag, in my opinion.

So inner of the wreath is still selected.  Layers/New Raster Layer. Move this layer beneath the Wreath, so the snow appears inside the wreath.

Go to Effects/Plugins/VanDerLee/Snowflakes.

Set it as below or as heavy as you want the snowfall to be.

When you have done this, select none.
Go to Edit/Copy Special/Copy Merged

Open animation shop and Paste as a new animation.

Go back to PSP and undo the last two steps so that your layer is selected and run Snowflakes again, remembering to move the Random slider at the bottom so your flakes fall in different places.

Select None, Edit/Copy Special/Copy Merged and go into animation shop and paste/after current layer.

Back to PSP for the last time and again, undo last two steps – your layer should still be selected.

Do snowflake effect – again moving random slider over a bit.  Copy/Copy Special/Copy Merged

Go into animation shop and paste after Current Layer.

Go to view animation and if it’s like mine you will need to change the speed of the falling snow.

In Animation Shop go to Select All

Then animation/Frame properties and change the number in the box to whatever you want.  I changed to 18.

That’s it done.  I hope you enjoyed this one.
