The Beauty of a Snowflake

This tutorial shows how to add to images in Animation Shop.

Supplies Needed

A main image (The one I used is by Brenda)

A snowy background image
a window frame of your choice.

Van Der Lee Snowflakes

Animation Shop

You can download what I used HERE

Firstly, I made my duck wobble a bit.

Open your image, resize to approximately 65% or whatever size you wish.

Duplicate this layer 5 times, so you have six layers. I renamed mine

2 duck layer, 3 duck layer so you’d know where we were at in the tutorial.

Draw around the area you want to wobble.

Keep selected the whole through the next stages.

Starting from the bottom up go to Distortion effects/Twirl

Enter 10 degrees in the box.

Now move up to the next layer and put 20 in the box and third layer put 30 in the box.

On the 4th layer put -30 in the box

5th -20 and 6th -10

Select None.

Close the eye on all layers except the bottom two. Duck Body

and 2 Duck Body

Click on one of the active layers and to to Edit/Copy/Copy Merged

Go to Animation Shop and Paste as a new animation.

Back to PSP and keep your first layer visible but close the eye on 2 duck body.

Open the eye on 3 Duck layer. Go to Edit/Copy/Copy Merged and then to Animation Shop and paste after Current frame.

Back to PSP and again, keep first layer, Duck body open and close out 3 Duck layer.

Open the eye on 4 duck layer and do the same as before.  Do this until all layers have been copied over to animation shop.
** PLEASE ENSURE THAT EACH TIME YOU CLOSE OUT A LAYER, THAT YOU CLICK ON THE ACTIVE LAYER, OTHERWISE

IT WON’T COPY**

In Animation shop, you should have six frames. Go to View Animation

You can make any changes to Frame rate etc now.  Leave this open in Animation Shop

Now to make your background etc.

Open a new image 600 x 600.

Open my jmr window frame psd file.

It has two layers. I left the layers separate in case you want to change the background image etc.

Enter your text, name, watermark here before you go any further.

With your magic wand click inside each of the boxes in your window frame.

Layers/New Raster Layer
Go to Effects/Plug Filters/Van Der Lee/Snowflakes.

I have included it in the zip in case you don’t have it.

Use these settings

Press OK

Now Select None.

Go to Edit/Copy Merged and go to Animation shop and paste as new animation.

Back to PSP and undo the last two steps.  Your window should be selected.

Run Snowflakes again but change the Random Seed number to 200

Select None.  Edit/Copy Merged and Paste After current frame in animation shop.

Back to PSP and undo last two steps. Your selection is still active and run

Snowflakes again, changing random seed to 300 this time.

Select None, Edit/Copy Merged and paste into Animation shop.

You can do this as many times as you wish, remember to change the random seed each time.

Now go to Animation Shop and view your animation.

Make sure you have the same number of frames with your animated image and your window image.

If not duplicate the frames you need to make them equal.

Go to your main image and with your pointer go to Edit/Select all/Copy

Then click onto your window frame image/Select All/Paste into selected frame and place your cursor where you want your main image to be placed. Left click your mouse and your image will appear in all frames.

I also added my sentiment in Animation Shop.  Premade in PSP.
Just make your sentiment and take it into animation shop. Duplicate it the same number of times as you have frames and do the same as described earlier, by selecting all, copying and pasting.
